~A Little About The Hands That Make The Naturals~

With a nose in a book
I have this crazy deep thing going on with herbs...  I can't seem to put my finger on it, it's just there.  Like Mother Nature is haunting me.  So, I let her.  And so far it's been an adventure I couldn't even begin to explain.  It still amazes me the things that happen when you 'connect'.
Lately I've been trying to put my finger on when, the exact moment was that I connected.  I know when I was younger I was all into the camping thing.  Building campers on my wagon with lawn furniture and blankets and hauling them around with a string tied from my seat to the wagon handle. *L God I had fun!  But,  at 14 I took this walk into the woods... I came out someone totally diffrent.  And here I am, 23 years later.  An herbal study freak with a little shoppe to brew in.

Other than studying the medicinal properties of herbs, I've also studied Iridology and Cell structure.  I spent a summer studying more than 260 diffrent diseases and herbs for them.  Drug interactions between herbs and modern medicines.  Some study of Biology and Reflexology.  Theraputic massage techniques and extensive study of termanology in all these fields.  Listed the vitamins and minerals of more than 80 herbs and the uses of more than 48 vitamins and minerals and their other sources.  I've studied over 200 herbs, easily. And  I've been reading everything I can read on them and more from books to magazines to internet searches for over 20 years.
I have also done some study on Celtic, Gypsy, Herbal and Stone Magic and old names of herbs.
I have a personal library of over 50 books on medicinal herbs and several more refrence books on diseases, healing foods, vitamins and minerals. I also try to keep up with the latest news in herbal medicine by being subscribed to magazines and having access to other informational material I gather when I shop for ingredients at local stores.
I have a huge collection of personal notes and have written 2 books that I have in my personal library.  I have intentions, and have started putting things in order to write a 3rd book.

My Serenity and My Book
This is the garden that I built for my herbs... I call her Serenity because no termoil is allowed there.  I have more than 50 herbs growing there,  with several species of mints, sages and tarragons.  It's a wonderful, relaxing place to sit and study, which I have done alot of until wee hours of the morning by torch light.  Most of my book was written in Serenity...
I have written it for my own personal use on all the herbs in my garden.  That book is pictured on the Parlor page of this website and it's the one I'm holding in the picture above. My book also contains notes on over 40 other herbs not growing in my garden, harvesting and storage of herbs, how to freeze garden veggies, the Essiac formula and Hoxey formula for cancer, various notes and recipies, a dosage chart, measuring and termanology, a break down of the diffrent types of medical treatments, an extensive list of oils for skin care, more than 100 diseases and herbs that are good for them, cooking herbs, an herbal dye chart, how to make paper and how to Dukker.  I've also listed stone meanings, candle, oil and incense magic, the 4 elements and a few notes on the Celts.  It is 291 pages long and I covered it with antique leather deer hide my Father Inlaw gave me.  I almost always carry this book with me where ever I go.

A Bit of History
I became interested in all things natural at 14 when my parents moved me from the city and stuck me in the beautiful woods of Northern Michigan. Passed through the years from my Great Grandfather, who was a Faith Healer, to my beautiful Grandmother, on to my Mommy then to me.

Some things are just inside people. This is inside me.  And I want to share it with you.

If you'd like to check out my other website click here
It was built for my herb garden and other herbal info.

So...  There ya go.  Now, you know a bit about me and what I do.
Cool huh?
